Posting of incorrect information is a problem that leads to the community being misinformed and creates panic.
Community members are urged to verify all information with the SAPS before posting it.
When information is posted on social media, SAPS resources and members are dispatched only to find, on arrival what has been posted on social media is not happening.
Reporting false information can result in criminal charges as it is defeating the ends of justice.
