Join Hospice’s adventurous foodie trip
The entrance fee per car of between two and four participants is R500

DO you know what ingredients go into a calzone? Or what different cheeses taste like?
Why not join Hospice East Rand on its Foodie Trip on November 13?
This will be the second Hospice East Rand Adventure Road Trip this year. The first trip in June was a historical trip following in the footsteps of Sir George Farrar, who was the founder of Benoni and ERPM.
The trip on November 13 will give participants the opportunity to test their taste buds and general food knowledge. The trip will start at the head office of the Hospice at 218 Kemston Avenue, Benoni.
Places to visit include in Benoni, Boksburg, Kempton Park, Edenvale and Modderfontein, as these are some of the towns where the society cares for patients on the East Rand.
Various businesses and individuals have come on board to create a “team action” on the day. For example, at an Italian food factory they will have to guess the ingredients that are used in a calzone. At other places they will have to taste coffees or cheeses and identify flavours.
The entrance fee per car of between two and four participants is R500, which includes tea and coffee at the start and a lunch, at the end of the race, back at the offices of Hospice East Rand in Benoni.
The duration of the trip will be from 9.30am until 2.30pm, when a prize-giving will take place and lunch will be served.
Hospice relies on businesses and individuals to donate finances, prizes and items for goodie bags that will be handed out to each participant on the day.
