Arwyp Training Institute hosts 18th annual graduation ceremony

209 Certificates and diplomas were awarded to learners who had successfully completed nursing programs

THE Arwyp Training Institute (ATI) held its 18th annual graduation ceremony on October 7 at Hoërskool Jeugland.

The ATI is a South African Nursing Council (SANC) accredited private nursing education institution and has been involved in the training of nurses since 1996.

At this year’s function, 209 certificates and diplomas were awarded to learners who successfully completed nursing programmes and the Care Worker course during the past year.

The principal of the ATI, Dr Annelize de Villiers, who has extensive experience as a researcher, nurse educator and manager both in South Africa and internationally, gave the welcoming address and handed over the certificates and the best student awards. The guest speaker was Nthepo Ranape, an accomplished writer and public relations specialist.

Seven diplomas were awarded to the bridging course leading to registration as a nurse (R.683), 72 certificates to the course leading to enrolment as a nurse (R.2175), 49 certificates to the course leading to enrolment as a nursing auxiliary (R.2176) and 81 certificates to the course leading to qualification as a care worker.

Nine special awards for outstanding achievements were also awarded to the following recipients: Thandeka Mahlobo (PCW 15:02), Matome Fanny Nemukumbani (PCW 16:01), Lerato Sefoto (PAN 15:01), Tumedisa Johanna Phago (PEN2 15:01) and Jacqueline Ann Duke (BR2 14:01).

The best PEN2 overall performance award went to Tumedisa Johanna Phago, the Henrietta Stockdale award went to Jacqueline Ann Duke, the Florence Nightingale Professional Conduct and Leadership award went to Roberto Martino and the Unit Manager’s award went to Portia Nthabiseng Faba

The managers of the facilities at which learners are placed to obtain their clinical experience were also awarded with a certificate of appreciation for the guidance and support which they afforded the graduates.
