Bride of the Year shares her blessings
She wants to encourage the community to assist the girls at Kempton-Oos Kinderhuis by making a donation into the home's account
KEMPTON EXPRESS’ 2015 Bride of the Year winner, Celeste Loubser, used her R10 000 prize to make a difference in the community.
Loubser, together with her husband Ruben, decided to use her R10 000 shopping voucher she won from the bridal competition to spoil the girls at one of Abraham Kriel Children’s Homes in Bredell.

On October 22, Loubser spent the day with the girls at the home and spoiled each one with a pamper pack filled with items such as hairbrushes and accessories, notebooks, stationery, hygiene products and toiletries that she bought with the Pick n Pay voucher.
The beauty pageant judge gave each girl a tiara and a string of flowers around their neck to make them feel like little princesses. The girls also enjoyed delicious treats including cupcakes, sweets and milkshakes.
“I also gave a motivational speech on how they are our country’s future and that they must never give up and never stop dreaming. I also spoke about how they are an inspiration to others and that anything is possible,” Loubser told EXPRESS.
The private school principal also educated them about cancer and Cancer Awareness Month.
“I taught them that even if we are faced with challenges such as developing cancer, we all have a survivor within ourselves and we must never stop fighting for what we believe in and for what we want to achieve in life.”
Loubser, who is also a professional dancer and is part of the SA dancing team, extended her charity beyond just one day and wanted to provide further assistance.
“I asked each girl to fill in a Christmas wish list so I can also see if I can assist in making their Christmas dreams come true later this year, if possible.”
Through this initiative, Loubser identified two matric girls who live at the shelter and she would like the community to help them.
One of the girls is 18 years old and would like to study at Potchefstroom University next year. Her biggest dream is to become a nurse.
The second girl (20) is in desperate need of a job and a place to stay next year.
“I want to encourage the community to assist these girls by making a donation into the children’s home’s account. I know together we can most definitely make a difference.”
The account details for the home are:
