Police catch-up with some of Ivory Park’s most wanted

Police reported that four wanted suspects were arrested

Following the arrest of two men who were on Ivory Park SAPS’ most-wanted list last month, the police reported that four more wanted suspects were arrested by the Ivory Park SAPS and will face charges dating back to 2007.

According to Ivory Park SAPS communications officer, Captain Bernard Matimulane, the latest arrests took place in the past two weeks alone.

“Three of the suspects were being sought for possession of unlicensed firearms while the fourth is to face charges of possession of stolen property. The suspects, whose ages range from 29 to 45 years, were traced to jails across the country as they have been arrested for other serious crimes, excluding those that they are wanted for in Ivory Park. Two things these wanted men have in common is that they had skipped bail and they are currently in jails for other crimes,” said Capt Matimulane.

In welcoming these arrests, Brigadier David Mbongeni Ngcobo, the station commander of the Ivory Park SAPS said, “We remain resolute in ensuring that whoever commits crime in our area should be made to serve time in jail. The fact that someone has been at large for however long does not mean we have forgotten about them. The long arm of the law will catch up with them, as is the case with these four.”
