Gauteng Crime Intelligence and Benoni SAPS Dog Unit members arrested two men for possession of drugs and the chemicals to manufacture narcotics.
Constable Patricia Mgijima said the two units were following up on information that led them to a house in Umthambeka Section, Tembisa.
“On November 12 at about 7pm the officers arrived at the house and found a silver/grey Opel Astra with two occupants. The car was reversing out of the yard,” said Const Mgijima.
The officers stopped the car and searched the driver (31) and the passenger (28).
“Inside the vehicle two buckets and two plastic bags containing drugs were found.
“Police officers found the keys to the house in the driver’s pocket and unlocked the house. Inside the house, drums and more buckets containing chemicals were found. Drugs were still being cooked on a gas stove.”
Const Mgijima said the suspects pointed out another house in Ivory Park Extension 2 where more chemicals and powder was found. The two suspects were arrested, charged with dealing in drugs and were detained at the Tembisa South Police Station.
