TWO people needed advanced life support when a taxi and two vehicles collided on Modderfontein Road just after 6am this morning.

The accident occurred at the intersection with Emerald Boulevard, said Max Cohen, spokesman for Emer-G-Med.

The taxi driver was entrapped within the wreckage and Ekurhuleni Fire Department used the jaws of life to cut him from the wreckage.

Cohen said 13 other people were also injured in the collision, with two requiring advanced life support intervention. The patients were assessed and treated at the scene before being transported to various nearby facilities for further care.
