A 24-year-old man was arrested on Saturday night following the death of his stepfather at Kaalfontein informal settlement.
“It is believed the victim (41) was asleep with his wife at home when the suspect arrived and allegedly complained about the paraffin stove,” Capt Jethro Mtshali, Kempton Park SAPS spokesman, said.
“An argument broke out and the suspect allegedly drew a sharp instrument and stabbed the victim in the upper body. He was later certified dead by paramedics.”
When police were summoned to the scene at about 8.30pm, the suspect was pointed out and arrested and will appear in court on a charge of murder.
