POLICE are looking for a man (or men) in connection with a business break-in at a transport company in Bredell.
The incident happened on October 10 when office equipment worth about R90 000 was stolen.
According to Kempton SAPS’ Sgt Tsakane Madukwe, a man was caught on CCTV footage inside the company’s offices in the early hours of October 10.
For a few hours, from about midnight to 2.48am, the man in the video is seen crawling on the floors of the company’s office, taking equipment such as computers off the desks and sliding them away.
He wore a beanie, greyish jacket and pants, black shoes and black gloves.
Throughout the video, the man is moving around while lying on the floor and dragging his body forward.
First he crawls under a table and starts taking a computer off the table and putting it on the floor, one part at a time. He then heads over to the desk next to it and repeats the same process. He continues to the third desk and once he has collected all his items, he crawls out of sight.
Over an hour later the footage shows him in another section of the office, at about 1.38am, where he repeats the same modus operandi. Except in this time it appears as if he is joined by a second man. This carries on until about 2.45am.
Then, finally, at about 3.10am, a man is seen outside the premises, walking away into what looks like a bushy area. He is wearing the same coloured pants and shoes but this time with a black jacket and without a white beanie.
When company officials arrived the next morning, they found that seven computers, four company cellphones, two mounted flat screen TVs and one laptop were missing.
A case of business burglary is being investigated and police request anyone who might know the identity of the man (or men) in the video to come forward.
