Man arrested for attempting burglary

The police received information about a housebreaking and theft in progress in Oakmoor Extension.

A 27-year-old man was arrested on December 2 at 1.30am for attempting to break into a house in Oakmoor Extension.

Captain Manyadza Ralizhivha said the police received information about a housebreaking and theft in progress in Oakmoor Extension.

“The Tembisa SAPS went to the house immediatelyand on arrival, the owner of he house came out.

“They started to search for the man who was tampering with the door. He was found hiding behind a shack in the yard. When the police searched him, they found a side cutter,” said Capt Ralidzhivha.

Capt Ralidzhivha said the owner of the house told the police that he did not know the man.

“The suspect told the police that he resides in Phomolong. He was unable to give a reason why he was in the yard at that time of the night.”

Captain Ralidzhivha said the suspect was arrested and detained at the Tembisa SAPS cells.

He said the suspect is expected to appear Tembisa Magistrate’s Court soon, to answer a charge of being found in possession of housebreaking implements.
