Gomba gets 10 year sentence for murder

Thanks to assistance of the community of the area, Gomba was arrested soon after the crime was committed.

The Ivory Park SAPS station commander, Brigadier David Mbongeni Ngcobo, has welcomed the 10-year prison sentence for an Ivory Park man who was convicted of the fatal stabbing of another man last year.

The Tembisa Magistrate’s Court sentenced 25-year-old Siphelele Christopher Gomba, of Ivory Park Extension 2, to 10 years imprisonment last month.

Gomba was found guilty of stabbing another man to death after an argument.

Brig Ngcobo said, “We hope the family of the deceased will find solace in the fact that the person who caused them so much pain has been convicted and has been made to pay for his deeds. In the same vein I want to congratulate the investigative officer, Sergeant Queen Masutha, for a job well done in her investigations.”

Brig Ngcobo called upon the community of Ivory Park to be vigilant this festive season and to join hands with the police in exposing criminal elements within the community.
