Man nabbed for possession of illegal firearms
The incident occurred in Tembisa’s Exubeni Section on November 28.
The Tembisa SAPS spokesperson, Captain Manyadza Ralidzhivha, said a tenant was sleeping in her backroom and she heard a loud bang.
“Thereafter she heard someone knocking at the door. She opened the door and saw the landlord’s 17-year-old son. He was holding the unknown wounded boy.
“The 17-year-old boy told the tenant to call an ambulance because he had shot his friend,” said Capt Ralidzhivha.
Capt Ralidzhivha said the teenage boy ran back into the house, leaving the tenant with his wounded friend. He came back with a firearm.
“The tenant ran out to seek help from neighbours.There was a second loud bang. The witness asked neighbours to phone the police and an ambulance,” said Capt Ralidzhivha.
On arriving at the scene, the police and the witness went inside the house and saw the 17 year old and his 14 year old friend lying on the ground.
“Both the boys were certified dead at the scene. There was a firearm lying next to them.
“Preliminary investigations revealed that the firearm belonged to the late father of the 17 year old.”
Capt Ralidzhivha said a murder inquest has been opened.
