Man critically injured in rollover accident on the R21
He was airlifted to hospital after being freed from the wreck
A man in his 40s was critically injured on Thursday afternoon when his car rolled several times on the R21 near Nelmapius Drive.
Chris Botha of Netcare 911 said paramedics came across the accident scene around 2pm.
“Reports from the scene indicate that the Opel Astra veered across the roadway and rolled several times. Another vehicle then collided with the twisted frame of the Opel,” Both said.
Paramedics found the driver of the Opel still seated in the vehicle with life-threatening injuries. The patient was spinally immobilised before he was removed from the twisted frame of his vehicle.
He was stabilised before being airlifted to hospital.
