COCAINE worth over R1.5-million was seized at OR Tambo Airport on Sunday.

According to The South African Revenue Service, the drugs were being smuggled to Lusaka by a male Bolivian passenger.

The organisation said customs officials seized the cocaine, which weighed just over 5kgs and had an estimated value of R1 536 318.

SARS confirmed in a statement that the suspect was en-route to Lusaka, Zambia, when the drugs were found inside and on the sides of his checked-in bag.

The man was taken into police custody for further investigations.
