A second major pipe burst on Zuurfontein Road

Water tankers will be available

Excavation work on Zuurfontein Road will start again this morning as another pipe burst occurred last night.

According to ward councillor Tracey Lourenco it is believed the new problem is quite close to where the new pipe was installed last week on the corner of Parkland Drive and Zuurfontein Road.

“Water officials and engineers were on site with me promptly to assess the situation. Water has been shut down to Esther Park and a portion of Edleen around Pick n Pay. Contractors have started tearing up the road. The section were they need to dig has not been tarred as yet,” Lourenco said.

Zuurfontein Road has been closed at Parkland Drive but there is a slip road so traffic is not diverted at this stage.

Water tankers will be available at the cafe on Parkland Drive and the Total garage just off CR Swart Drive at Kempton Gate.
