The head of the nursing department at Tembisa Hospital, Mr Wilfred Mothwane, and the staff of Ward 6 celebrated with songs of praise and happiness at the arrival of eight babies on New Year’s Day, including a set of twins.
Baby girl Obakeng Masunga, who was the first to arrive, at 12h30am, weighing 3.2 kg, received gifts from the staff members.
Ms Katlego Masunga (22), Obakeng’s mother, said: “I am extremely excited to have given birth to an adorable and lovely child. I have been waiting for this moment of relief and happiness. I am grateful for the treatment of the nurses and I am thankful for everything that they have done for me and baby. Their services were on par.”
The hospital’s communication manager, Kedibone Motubatse, said this was a proud moment for the hospital.
“We are pushing transformation at the hospital. I am very impressed with how the patients rated the service of our staff members. We are happy everything went well and I would like to congratulate the staff for working around the clock to make sure the babies were born without any problems. We wish all the babies and their mothers good luck for the future.”
