Capt Ralidzhivha said the security officer intervened and asked the man why he had damaged the machine.

“The suspect told the security officer that the machine had taken his bank card and had retained it. The machine had swallowed it. He was furious.”

Capt Ralidzhivha said the police were called in to the scene and the suspect was handed over to the police .

“A case of malicious damage to property was opened against him. He was detained at the Tembisa police cells.”

Capt Ralidzhivha said the suspect appeared in the magistrate’s court to answer a charge of malicious damage to property.
