Ekurhuleni North Cluster arrests 102

SAPS succeeds in arresting law offenders

Ekurhuleni North Cluster arrested about 102 two suspects from Friday (January 13) afternoon until Sunday morning.

Tembisa South SAPS communications officer Captain Neldah Sekgobela said 29 suspects were found driving whilst under the influence of liquor and 28 were arrested in Tembisa SAPS precinct.

“Thirteen arrests were for assault, 10 were for possession of dagga and five were arrested for possession of suspected stolen property.

“Other suspects were arrested for cases such as robbery, possession of unlicensed firearm and malicious damage to property,” said Captain Sekgobela.

The unknown suspect in possession of an unlicensed firearm was arrested in Tsenelong Section in the early hours of Monday morning.

“It is alleged that the suspect together with his two accomplices robbed victims of their possessions at corner Etosha and Letsiakarana streets.

“The victims fought back and managed to overpower the one who was in possession of a firearm,” said Captain Sekgobela.

She said all the suspects were expected to appear in the Tembisa and Kempton Park Magistrate’s Courts on January 17.
