WARNING: Severe storms and damaging winds expected today

Chances of rain are expected to increase towards the end of the week

The South African Weather Service warns of severe thunderstorms expected in Gauteng on Thursday, April 6.

The storms might be accompanied by hail and damaging winds.

Over Gauteng, the south-western Bushveld of Limpopo, the western parts of Mpumalanga, eastern parts of the North-West and the central parts of the Free State, a 60% chance of rain can be expected.

The rain is due to a cold front which will be moving across the country’s southern coastal parts of the western side, moving over to the East Coast towards Friday.

Chances of rain are expected to increase towards the end of the week, as temperatures are expected to fall.
