Con Amore fun run for autism

The funds will go towards the new autism phase at Con Amore School.

CON Amore School for learners with intellectual disabilities will be hosting a Fun Run for autism on April 22 at the school on Sable Street, Esther Park.

The school recently started an autism phase which focuses on learners diagnosed on the autism spectrum and has huge potential to expand and grow and to serve more families.

“To equip and adapt these classes and playground areas with the necessary educational tools, therapeutic programs etc. is an exciting, however challenging, journey for all involved: educators, therapists, the school management, the parents and the broader community. That is why we are hosting the fun run, so that the community can help us build this dream,” says occupational therapist, Lisa de Vaux.

The track is 1km in diameter and there will be a 42km relay around the track.

The race will start at 8am and end at 4pm. Entries are R100 for adults, R80 for scholars and R20 for pre-schoolers.

There will also be live shows and lots of prizes to be won.

For more information or to book, contact the school on 011-976 1037.
