Rabapane wins R100 000 prize

Mr Rabapane received his R100 000 cheque at a handover ceremony at the MTN head office in Fairlands.

Tembisa-based Mr Silver Rabapane has been announced as the latest R100 000 prize winner in the MTN Afrikaans is Groot consumer competition.

With customers’ lives already changed in the Eastern Cape, Free State and Cape Town, it was finally the turn of Gauteng as Rabapane received his R100 000 cheque at a handover ceremony at the MTN head office in Fairlands.

Speaking about the handover, Larry Annetts, Chief Consumer Officer for MTN SA, commented, “Afrikaans is Groot is a popular musical extravaganza that celebrates Afrikaans musical talent. MTN is pleased to be part of this initiative, and what better way to heighten excitement about this festival than by rewarding our loyal customers who are contributing to the success of the festival? We look forward to rewarding more customers in future.”

The lucky customer, who entered the MTN Afrikaans is Groot Music Festival competition, said, “This is beyond my wildest dreams. I will never forget this moment.”

In keeping with its goal of rewarding customers, MTN has already rewarded four other winners with R100 000 each and also offered a variety of spot prizes and giveaways for revellers who attended the festivals in Pretoria and Cape Town.
