LOOK OUT: Only uniformed Kempton SPCA staff can collect donations
If anyone else says they are collecting on behalf of the SPCA, contact the manager Kira Sparrow
KEMPTON SPCA would like to warn community members that only people wearing an SPCA uniform are permitted to collect donations.
This follows recent incidents where the animal welfare society has had donations being falsely collected on its behalf.
“We had issues with people collecting donations ‘on behalf’ of the SPCA but the goods never made it back to the branch,” said Christie Mann, committee member of the SPCA.
The SPCA is always in need of secondhande household goods and clothing donations from the community which they sell at two of its shops to raise funds.
One of the shops is on their premises and the second charity shop, which was opened in November last year, is on Palm Avenue.
“Please remember that only uniformed staff members in a branded SPCA vehicle will collect your donations.”
If you have any household goods you would like to contribute to Kempton SPCA, drop them off at the branch at 130 Fitter Road in Spartan.
Alternatively, contact the admin staff on 011 028 3203, 011 029 7637 or 011 975 6537/8 to arrange collection.
If anyone else says they are collecting on behalf of Kempton Park SPCA, contact the manager, Kira Sparrow, on 011 027 8191.
