Norkem Park residents sign petition for more police officers and vans

Residents of Kempton Park West engaged with the police about criminal activity in their neighbourhood

NORKEM Park station commander Col Tobias Strauss discussed crime issues with residents who signed a petition for parliament to increase police resources on July 8.

Locals were proud to have DA MP Mike Waters there because he will present the petition in parliament to see that Norkem Park SAPS receives more police officers and patrolling vans.

Acting communications officer, Warrant Officer Mahlodi Langa, said the community was proud to sign the petition because they wanted their police to have more resources to protect their homes and families.

The meeting, held on Bloekomdraai Street in Terenure, also presented the police and residents an opportunity to engage about criminal activities in the precinct and how residents could ensure better safety and make use of their police.

Langa was proud to announce that more than 20 suspects were arrested for different crimes in the Norkem Park SAPS policing area between July 3 and 9.
