Sebenza SAPS strikes again, arrests suspects

Suspects arrested for illegal firearms.

Ekurhuleni North Cluster Members of Sebenza SAPS arrested two suspects for possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.

Capt Nelda Sekgobela said members of Sebenza SAPS were performing their normal patrol duties on July 22 in the evening along Andrew Mapheto Road in Chloorkop.

“The SAPS members noticed a white Chevrolet sedan with four occupants inside. The vehicle was moving slowly and it looked suspicious to them.”

Police followed the vehicle until it stopped next to the shops which were about to be closed at China Gate.

Two suspects got out of the vehicle and ran away from the scene after noticing the presence of the police,” said Sekgobela.

She said the police managed to apprehend the other two suspects aged between 22 and 24.

“The suspects were thoroughly searched and the police found two unlicensed firearms, 19 ammunitions and muti on them.”

The suspects were taken to Sebenza SAPS. They will be charged with possession of unlicensed firearms and live ammunition.
