Fortunately no shots were fired during the robbery and no one was harmed

The Telkom store in Festival Mall was robbed of a number of cellphones on Monday last week.

According to Lee-Anne Leathley, marketing manager of the centre, five armed men entered the store shortly before 2pm.

“Despite mall security responding immediately to the incident, the suspects escaped from the store and appear to be part of a syndicate who had robbed another store at another shopping mall earlier that morning,” she said.

“Fortunately no shots were fired during the robbery and no one was harmed.”

A blue Mercedes Benz was used as the getaway vehicle. The police are investigating the matter.
