Pre-school hosting beauty pageant to boost learners’ confidence

McDonald’s has offered the venue to them and will also be sponsoring the prizes for the winners

A local preschool will be hosting a beauty pageant that aims to boost learners’ confidence.

Natchie Preschool is planning to have the pageant on August 18 at the McDonald’s Kempton Park, in Monument Road.

“What we realised as a school is that a lot of our learners come from less fortunate backgrounds; some come from broken homes, some are being raised by single mothers, others are orphans and some can’t even afford to pay school fees,” school principal and owner, Audrey Vushendibaba explained.

“So we decided to organise this concert for our learners to boost their morale and to root out the inferiority complex in some of them.”

McDonald’s has offered them the venue and will also be sponsoring the prizes for the winners.

The public is welcome to attend. Tickets will be R30 for adults and R10 for children. The money raised will fund the school. The event will be on August 18 from 5pm.
