The convention will accommodate speakers of various languages, including English, French, Sesotho, Zulu, Shona, Venda and Xhosa speakers

ABOUT 75 000 people are expected to attend the Jehovah’s Witnesses Conference at Nasrec this month.

The event will be held at the Johannesburg Expo Centre where the theme for this year is “Don’t Give Up”, which will show how people can enjoy a happy life now and have a bright outlook for the future.

The convention will be held over three days from August 18-20 and will have separate sessions to accommodate English, French, Sesotho, Setswana, Shona, Venda and Xhosa speakers.

The subsequent conventions will be held on August 25-27 and will accommodate IsiZulu, Sesotho, Chichewa, English and Afrikaans speakers.

More sessions in IsiZulu, Tsonga, Sepedi, Chinese, English, Italian and Portuguese will be held later from September 1-3.

Jehovah’s Witnesses in South Africa are organising 58 conventions in 17 languages and 20 cities and towns. Worldwide there are over 8.34 million active members in more than 119 000 congregations.

As they have in the years past, the organisation will distribute a special invitation to the public welcoming them to attend the programme. The dates and locations for each convention as well as the programme schedule can be found on the Jehovah’s Witnesses website.

There is no admission fee.
