Finalist needs donations for POWA
Kyla’s aim is to raise awareness among local communities about the negative impact of violence against women and children
KYLA Maloney of Van Riebeeckpark was selected as one of the 12 finalists for the Miss Regal International South Africa pageant.
The crowning event will take place on September 27 at the Protea Fire & Ice Hotel in Menlyn.
Kyla competed against models from all over South Africa and had to show her ramp skills in casual and swim wear. All contestants were also interviewed by an esteemed panel of judges.
The official charity for the Miss Regal International South Africa pageant is People Opposing Women Abuse (POWA). Finalists have been granted permission by POWA to request donations on behalf of POWA shelters.
Over the next few weeks, the contestants will approach companies and other possible donors to donate items on the wish list of the East Rand and West Rand POWA shelters.
Kyla’s aim is to raise awareness among local communities about the negative impact of violence against women and children. Kyla will also be creating awareness around what POWA does and how they assist victims of abuse.
Kyla’s passion is to help the less fortunate; with a specific focus on women and children that have fallen victim to abuse. The pain and suffering these victims had to endure is unimaginable and this is why all her efforts will be aimed towards them.
Kyla would like to appeal to the community to support this worthy cause and also celebrate Women’s Month by donating any household items, funds or any other sponsorship towards POWA. The permission letter from POWA is available on request.
For any donations, contact her at maloney@telkomsa.net or 082 433 3975.
