Birthday surprise for Croydon’s newspaper man
William Xaba's friendly face is well known to Croydon residents
CROYDON’s newspaper man, William Xaba, received a wonderful surprise from the community on his birthday on Friday.
Martin Scott, chairman of Sebenza Sector 2 CPF, presented Xaba with a cake and some party goodies to celebrate his 35th birthday.
“Xaba’s friendly face is well known to Croydon residents. He has been selling newspapers at the traffic light at the corner of Driefontein Street and Major Miller Avenue for many years,” the community said.
Xaba was extremely thankful for his birthday gift and said the last time his birthday was celebrated was when his parents were still alive.
“Sebenza Sector 2 CPF is glad to have made his birthday special,” said Scott.
