Local author shares his secrets on how to become rich

A Birchleigh North resident, who goes by the name The SaubreyBoyz Walefatshe, has published his second book in which he shares his secrets on how to get rich.

The first edition of this book, Secrets For Becoming Rich, was written in 2002.

The book is dedicated to the author’s hero, mentor and educator Robert Kiyosaki. Walefatshe has also acknowledged DJ, radio and TV personality DJ Speedsta and rapper Ricky Rick for unconditionally supporting his son, Frank Casino, in his music career.

The following is a book review written by the author himself:

“Some time back on e.tv’s morning show, Sunrise, when they were reviewing the first edition, I was asked: ‘Are you rich?’

“It dawned on me that a lot of education needs to be spread to our people regarding the meaning of the word ‘rich’. The word ‘rich’ is relative. Let me illustrate the reason why in the following examples.

“One of my mentors, Dr Dolf de Roos, who is now a billionaire in the property business, once described richness in the following manner. He said when he was very young he would go to the beach on Saturdays and sell sweets for two cents. He would buy the sweets for one cent.

“On sunny Saturdays, he would have a R1 turnover, which means he would make 100 per cent profit. He further argued that he would carry 20 cents pocket money for a week. Now, when you look at the figures, it would mean he would make five times his pocket money in a single day and he declared that he was rich.

“Kiyosaki once indicated that in 1994 he was making $10 000 (R131 440) a month and his expenses were $7 000 (R92 008) a month, therefore leaving him with an extra $3 000 (R39 432) profit without working. He also declared that he was rich.

“One of my heroes, Warren Buffet, once declared you cannot be rich if you have one source of income. He went further to assert that if you want to forge ahead financially, one has to have multiple sources of income.

“In this book, I outline the principle of making money which is based on creating enough assets to bring in passive income, moreover when one has reached retirement age.
