Norkem Park SAPS spokesperson Capt Lesibana Molokomme explained: “The first accused, Fredy Dude, from Vusimusi Squatter Camp in Tembisa, was sentenced on five counts and his effective term of imprisonment is 32 years. The second accused, Vusimuzi Mkhize, was also sentenced on five counts and will serve an effective term of 45 years imprisonment.”
Owner of the business, Chika Japan, has informed EXPRESS that the suspects gained entry into the establishment by pretending to be customers after 2am on that Thursday morning.

The police were quick to respond and were able to reach the scene while the perpetrators were still committing the crime.
When Japan arrived he found the suspects locked in the back of the police van.
One of the suspects insulted Japan and threatened his life, prompting the angry owner to pepper-spray the perpetrator until police restrained him.
Japan told EXPRESS that the suspect kept shouting that prison was his home and he would be back to kill them. The suspect said he knew his rights and that he was sentenced to life already but was still out of prison, so he would be out again.
It was later discovered the suspects had switched off one camera in the reception area that was facing them, unaware that there were others all over the property.
