Free fitness classes for residents with Bazukaa Warriors Mzansi
Bazukaa Warriors intends to assist community members for free to work against an inactive lifestyle and unhealthy eating habits
GET a complete body workout and transform your physique just in time for summer – absolutely free.
That’s right. Sweat those extra winter kilos and get fit like a warrior with the Bazukaa Warriors Mzansi complete body workout.
The brainchild of local residents, JFK and China Motsepe, this initiative is intended to encourage people who cannot afford traditional fitness gyms or facilities to find alternative methods of getting fit and healthy.
“We are inviting everyone, young and old, to adopt a healthy lifestyle. We need to remember that obesity is now a major problem in South Africa. According to a study published in the BioMed Central journal, South Africa’s prevalence of overweight and obese people (combined) is now sitting at 85 per cent. Clearly this is a major concern which could lead to illnesses such as diabetes and hypertension,” Motsepe said.
With this in mind, Bazukaa Warriors intends to assist community members free of charge to work against an inactive lifestyle and unhealthy eating habits through fitness exercises, counselling on nutrition and motivation.
The free sessions will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays, 5.30pm to 6.30pm and on Saturdays 7am. The classes will begin on October 7.
They will be held at the Coen Scholtz Community Hall, Mooifontein Road, Birchleigh North.
