Flying squad nabs alleged killer on Swart Street

A man was shot and killed in Sandton after withdawing money from a bank

A man wanted in connection with a murder in Sandton earlier this year, had been arrested by Benoni Flying Squad on Swart Street in Kempton Park on Thursday.

His alleged accomplice in the crime was nabbed in Tembisa.

According to Sgt Angel Mkwanazi, spokesperson for Benoni Flying Squad, W/O Renier Dorfling made the arrests between noon and 2pm.

Mkwanazi said Dorfling, together with Benoni detectives, received information about the two suspects. They allegedly killed a man in Sandton on June 20 after following him from a bank.

“The victim withdrew some cash and as he left the bank, they shot him and took an undisclosed amount of money. They both fled the scene,” Mkwanazi said.

“Members followed information and managed to arrest one suspect on Swart Street and the other one was arrested in Isiziba Section in Tembisa.

Both suspects, aged 26, are being detained at Sandton Police Station and will appear in Randburg Magistrate’s Court facing a charge of murder.
