OR Tambo Airport advises passengers to allow for longer travelling time

Passengers travelling to OR Tambo International Airport this morning are advised to allow for longer travelling time.
Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) has been monitoring reports about the nationwide strike action on Wednesday.
Given the statements issued by the South African Police Service and metro authorities, as well as uncertainties involved in anticipating the impact of strike action, the company has advised passengers to allow for delays and longer travelling time to the airport, ACSA said in a statement.
While Airports Company South Africa is not aware of specific strike action focused on airports, it is possible that there could be traffic delays that would affect airport access routes.
The managements of airports are staying in close contact with the metro authorities and the South African Police Service in order to identify as early as possible any potential delays.
Strike action of this nature is not entirely predictable and passengers scheduled to depart from airports on Wednesday should make every effort to give themselves more time to get to the airport.
