Intercare Glen Marais fun day will support local charities
Vintage cars will be on display and there will be live entertainment.
INTERCARE Glen Marais, in conjunction with Edenvale Rotary and Edenvale Lions Club, will host a charity community fun day on December 2.
Various activities will take place from 9am to 4pm at Cavendish Glen Shopping Centre on Monument Road, where Intercare is situated.
Intercare Glen Marais will do free blood pressure and weight screenings while Lancet will do free cholesterol and glucose screenings.
A blood drive with the emphasis on the festive season will also be hosted.
Lions Club Edenvale will do free eye testing in conjunction with Haasbroek & Partners, sell their Christmas cakes, host an awareness campaign about kids with cancer and promote the upcoming CDE clinic.
Rotary Benoni will host a tree of joy and sell boerewors rolls.
Just Wheels will display vintage cars while the monkey sanctuary will also be present.
Live entertainment will be provided by Kyle the Indian Boertjie, The Sixties Band and Jethrow Butow.
Charities that will be supported are Herfsland and Casa Caritas.
Drop-off points for donations for these two charities are at Intercare Glen Marais, Clicks Cavendish Glen Centre, Checkers Cavendish Glen Centre, Dros Cavendish Glen Centre, Spar Glen Acres Centre and Glen Eagle Restaurant.
Their wish lists will be put up at the drop-off points.
