Support Cool Dads and other dudes in fun run
The family fiesta fun run seeks to raise R500 000 from admission fees
THE City of Ekurhuleni, in partnership with the Cool Dads Foundation, will on Sunday host a family fiesta fun run.
The five and 10km fun walk/run will take place at Germiston Lake Park. Scores of family members are expected to participate and enjoy picnicking on the lawns of the lake.
According to Ekurhuleni spokesperson, Themba Gadebe, the fun run will take place in the context of the 16 Days of Activism of No Violence Against Women and Children and seeks to create awareness of the city’s stance on the abuse of women and children.
“We want to deepen the values of family and rally our men to be responsible and caring family leaders,” he said.
The family fiesta fun run seeks to raise R500 000 from admission fees for the benefit of the Big Brother Mentorship Programme spearheaded by the Cool Dads Foundation CEO, Bongani Luvalo.
The run will start at 7am and admission is R300 for a family of four. Entry for a group of 10 costs R740 and an individual entry is R100 for adults and R70 for minors.
