Police to host sports against crime event

Community fights crime through sport.

Tembisa South SAPS invites community members to join the police and other stakeholders in a sports against crime event.

Tembisa South SAPS communications officer Captain Neldah Sekgobela said the event will be held on Wednesday, November 29 at Esiqongweni Sports Ground near Umthambeka Section.

“Stakeholders include Correctional Services, the Department of Health, the Department of Education, Child Welfare, Makukhanye Rehabilitation Centre, Get Informed, the Department of Social Development, NPA, Zinto NGO, Love Life, the Department of Community Safety, Road Traffic, Old Mutual and our local newspaper, The Tembisan,” said Sekgobela.

Sports on the day will include soccer, netball, a marathon and a fun walk.

Teams and community members who wish to participate may contact Sergeant Nonjabulo Mogale on 082 997 8816.

All the participants are requested to meet at 8am at Tembisa South Police Station before proceeding to Esiqongweni Sports Ground.
