Tswelelane Development celebrates third annual charity Christmas party

Tswelelane development staged its third annual charity Christmas party by sharing the Christmas spirit with 155 households at Tswelelane Bakery in Ivory Park.

On December 9, 2017, Tswelelane development handed out sanitary packs, clothed 35 children and also gave them vegetable packs.

“One hundred and twenty households received bread, we would not have been able to do all this without the help of every organisation or individual who committed to contributing to ensuring that the function progressively materialise.

“During the festive season, we are reminded of what the true meaning of this beautiful season is, it is the spirit of giving.

“We are also expected to focus on the virtues of Ubuntu,” said Tswelelane Development managing director Lehlogonolo Dibakoane.

He said in most South African communities it is a widely practiced culture that during the festive season children receive new clothes for the Christmas holidays.

He added that the sad part is “most of the less privileged children often don’t receive the same joy”.

Dibakoane thanked the Restoration Ministry, Morithi Wa Seshaba, Zamipile Distributors and the friends of Tswelelane Development for their contribution to the event.

“When Tswelelane Development first started with the project in 2015 we only managed to buy clothes for a few children and I believe that with the kindness of our associates, the number of beneficiaries will continue to rise,” said Dineo Semenya, Tswelelane Development member.

Tswelelane Development as a non-governmental organisation runs a beauty pageant in February each year and the proceeds from the Miss Fantasy pageant go towards the Christmas goodies presented by Tswelelane Development as a benefactor.
