Don’t pay to get a job
Community warned against paying for jobs in the City of Ekurhuleni.

A security guard in the City of Ekurhuleni was arrested in December 2017 after tricking a member of the public to pay cash for a job.
Acting Spokesperson for the City of Ekurhuleni Zweli Dlamini said the City urges the public to be vigilant of scammers who trick people into paying for jobs in The City of Ekurhuleni.
“Though the matter is still under further investigation, a preliminary investigation revealed that the security guard called the applicant and told him he could help him get a job in Ekurhuleni in exchange for cash. The applicant paid half of the demanded money but later reported the matter.
“There is never a point where one needs to pay to secure a job in the City,” said Dlamini.
Ekurhuleni urges applicants to report anyone demanding payment in exchange for a job in the City to 0800 102 201.
