Residents told to break silence about criminal behaviour
About 2 000 residents attended the meeting which was held in the church next to NCP Hostel.
The Management of Tembisa South SAPS, sector managers and members of the Community Policing Forum (CPF) visited the community of Vusimusi and Ehlanzeni Sections in order to address issues on crime that is taking place in the areas.
The meeting was held on January 20.
About 2 000 residents attended the meeting which was held in the church next to NCP Hostel.
Community members were encouraged to break their silence on crime-related issues, especially when they know the suspects, information on drugs, stolen properties and unlicensed firearms.
The Tembisa South SAPS communication officer, Capt Neldah Sekgobela, said the meeting was arranged after the station was shocked by the recent double murder incident that occurred in the areas.
The station commander, Col Nthipe Boloka, encouraged the residents to register themselves as informers since it pays for bringing the positive information that leads to the arrest of the suspects.
