Know your SAPS sector manager

Ngcobo appealed to the community to refrain from taking the law in their own hands

Brig David Mbongeni Ngcobo, the station commander of the Ivory Park SAPS, is calling on the local community to get to know their sector managers and join the local crime prevention structures in their areas.

As part of this initiative Ngcobo, accompanied by the head of visible policing, the sector manager, the chairman of the community policing forum, and social crime prevention personnel, met the community of the Rolihlahla Section on January 24.

During the meeting the sector manager, Const Ndwamato Makhavhu, was introduced to the community.

Addressing the meeting, Ngcobo appealed to the community to refrain from taking the law in their own hands, assured them the Ivory Park SAPS was committed to working closely with them in addressing crime in the area, and took the opportunity to distribute whistles.

“Knowing who your sector manager is in your area enables the community to have their point of contact at the police station, and the correct person to speak to whenever they have crime-related matters in their area,” says Ngcobo.
