Fitness event for Kempton women on Saturday

Fun and laughter is unavoidable during sessions and there is not a drill sergeant in sight

Adventure Boot Camp for Women, an outdoor exercise programme for women across South Africa, is re-branding and Kempton women are invited to join the fun.

To celebrate, the Kempton Park branch will have a launch event on February 24 at Hoërskool Kempton Park from 6am to 7am.

Here, under the guidance of franchise owner and fitness fanatic Hermien Mostert, women of all fitness levels are invited to get a taste of boot camp life. Women are encouraged to wear pink, purple or orange – the organisation’s brand-new and revamped colours.

Fitness enthusiasts, who aren’t keen to get up early and attend army-like training, need not fear. According to marketing manager Alisha Mackintosh, this is not your everyday boot camp.

“By no means is Adventure Boot Camp a traditional boot camp – fun and laughter is unavoidable during sessions and there is not a drill sergeant in sight,” she said.

Mackintosh added that there would be no monotonous routines or sweaty gym equipment, “only a consistently beautiful environment and a group of women all striving to achieve a healthier lifestyle”.

According to her, this launch comes at a special time, as trainer Mostert celebrates 10 years with the franchise. “With no other assistance, she has trained over 6 000 women. She helped them to reach their goals and bring change to their lives.”

Mostert has, among other things, a Fitpro personal training diploma, a diploma in cardio athletic kick box, and is a training consultant for the Royal Academy of Dancing Teacher and Training. She dances herself, having started a career in ballet at the age of three.
