Rand Water assures consumers of safe drinking water supply

Rand Water has taken note of recent media reports in respect of concerns regarding localised pollution in parts of the Vaal River system.

Mindful of the fact that the integrity of all surface and ground water resources must be protected, it is important to assure consumers within our service area that Rand Water will continue to provide drinking water of high quality, the entity said in a statement on Tuesday.

Rand Water abstracts raw water from the Vaal Dam located upstream of these reported pollution incidents and purifies the water to meet current drinking water standards (SANS 241:2015).
