Van Huyssteen said when paramedics arrived on the scene, they found some of the taxi’s passengers walking around. “Upon further assessment, paramedics found seven patients who sustained minor to serious injuries,” she said.
These patients were taken to hospital for further medical care.
In a second accident at almost the same time, at least 10 people sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate after a taxi and bakkie collided on Isando Road.

Van Huyssteen said ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene just before 7am and found another medical service in attendance. Upon further assessment, most of the patients were found walking around on the scene.
Paramedics found at least 10 people who had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate.
