The Kempton Park SAPS Crime Prevention Unit continued with its crime prevention duties around the city over the weekend from Friday to Sunday.
The aim of this is to make sure the community is free from being victims of crime.
“The operations also focused on stop-and-searches at various hot spots prevalent to crime and drugs in the CBD, Monument and Kempton roads, and Rhodesfield and Pretoria roads,” said Capt Jethro Mtshali, spokesperson for Kempton Park SAPS.
“The operations saw 24 suspects arrested for various crimes, including attempted hijacking, common robbery, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm (assault GBH), possession of suspected stolen goods, shoplifting, business robbery, possession of drugs, driving under the influence of alcohol, interference with police while conducting their duties, malicious damage to property and theft.”
