Dann Road closed as eviction notices are served on squatters
The metro police monitored the situation and then left
Dann Road between Dufton and Monument roads had been closed by the metro police this morning (Tuesday) as a result of an operation at the squatter camp on Dann Road.
Motorists were advised to stay clear of the area.
The Sheriff of the Court, ordered by the South Gauteng High Court, served the occupants with eviction application documents which was met with much disapproval by the occupants.

The occupants came out in numbers singing revolutionary songs and requested EMPD personnel to leave the premises.
Some of the rather disgruntled occupants were heard saying to the officers: “You gave us the papers, what are you still doing here?”
The metro police monitored the situation and then left.
