Two taxi owners gunned down in Esangweni, one critically injured

The occupants of the Quantum just took out firearms and shot at the victims

Three taxi owners from Midrand Taxi Association were shot in Seagul Street, Esangweni Section on April 16.

Two of the victims died on the scene and one was admitted to a hospital.

According to the Tembisa South SAPS communications officer, Captain Neldah Sekgobela, it is alleged that the victims were fixing car tyres and were about to finish when a white Toyota Quantum, with three occupants, accompanied by a white Toyota Corolla, arrived on the scene.

“The occupants of the Quantum just took out firearms and shot at the victims without saying a word. After the incident, they sped off,” said Sekgobela.

Sekgobela added it is alleged that the Quantum had no number plate attached to it.

Tembisa South SAPS opened double murder cases and an attempted murder case. They are appealing to anyone with information regarding the suspects to come forward.
