Blame it on technology – or finger trouble.
According to Themba Gadebe, spokesperson for the metro, the wrong sign erected at the intersection of Vlei Street and Pretoria Road was the result of the wrong GPS co-ordinates being captured by the contractors.

“The contractors erected it in accordance with a GPS co-ordinate which appeared to have been incorrectly captured. The sign should not have been erected in this position. There is a correct suburb name sign in close proximity,” he said.
When asked whether the correct sign had been erected in Benoni, he said: “No, this sign will be relocated to its position in Benoni.”
