Tabithas make 600 items to hand out this winter
Residents are urged to donate wool to the ministry to continue with their work.
After 12 months of hard work, the Tabitha Team once again experienced the joy of packing their handmade winter woolies for those in need.
Over 600 items – 423 jerseys, 79 blankets and 99 small items (scarves and beanies) were distributed to 23 homes.
The 20-25 loyal team members got together on April 21 and were once again blessed to be able to pack the items they made throughout the past 12 months with love and dedication for delivery to homes in Ekurhuleni which have need of them.
“We had a fantastic time of fellowship and laughter as we unpacked everything onto the tables, had a thank you lunch (arranged by the church) and then got down to the serious task of packing according to each home’s requirements,” they said.
This is an amazing ministry which provides beautiful items to underprivileged children and also gives very talented people the opportunity to utilise their gifts to benefit others. The team is part of the outreach programmes run from Gateway Presbyterian Church.
The group thanked Gateway Church for sponsoring this ministry with funds to enable them to purchase wool that is required to allow members to utilise their gifts.
“Thank you to Cynthia of The Wool Shop for her support of the Tabitha Team with regular discounts when we purchase the wool. While we are funded by the church we always need additional wool. Please help us to help the less fortunate in our community by donating to the Tabitha Team.”
Any donations of wool (any ply) or funds are gratefully received and can be dropped at the Gateway Presbyterian Church office. You can call the office on 011 972 8211.
