Classes empower women to handle dangerous situations
'We want to help women become unstoppable by equipping them with the tools they need.'
There was laughter and tears as women gathered for a morning of empowerment at the Fierce Female Empowerment Initiative open day.
The event was held at a tranquil venue in Bredell on Saturday, May 5.
Founders of the initiative Leandri Faccio and Melanie Smith aim to empower women with their programmes by using training and knowledge as tools.
“We want to help women become unstoppable by equipping them with the tools they need,” the two said.
These tools will be offered in workshops.
“Women of all ages can attend to learn about anti-hijacking techniques, defensive driving, first aid, vehicle maintenance and breakdown, self-defence and rape prevention, how to deal with hazards, as well as snake, spider and scorpion handling.”
All workshops include light snacks, a gift bag and lucky draws with prizes.
